Cantercare is a Christian Charity whose Vision is to:
Provide a supportive and secure home for young women who are:
• Homeless, and
• Pregnant or have a young baby
We will work with each young women to:
• Advocate and mediate on her behalf
• Encourage positive parenting
• Promote healthy relationships, and
• Enable and prepare them to live independently.
Cantercare is managed by a team of people drawn from a number of churches in Canterbury. If you believe you can help as part of this team or as a trustee, please contact Simon Perks on 01227 767180.
We are supported financially by government funding called 'Supporting People', the local council through housing benefit and the generous giving of Christians and others. If you wish to contribute, either as a one off gift or as a regular contributor, please contact our treasurer Mr Chris Geary on 01227 767180.
Because Cantercare operates in such problematic areas as homelessness and single motherhood, there is a need for constant prayer and to support this we regularly produce a newsletter. If you would like to receive a copy, please contact the House Manager.
Practical help is often needed. This could take the form of assistance when the residents move on or even using your skills in maintenance of the house. Offers again to the House Manager.
We welcome support in all areas of our work and donations are gratefully received.
Please contact Cantercare if you feel able to support our work.
